Identification Crisis

Identification Crisis

As our children go back to school, I have been specifically moved upon by the Holy Spirit to pray for them. A stirring deep inside me cries out against the onslaught of the enemy in today’s world to confuse our precious children regarding gender issues. It is an identification crisis of epic proportions. I welcome your active prayer support. I know you already are but keep praying over your school-age children. We are in a battle for the souls of our kids. Take time to sit down with them and candidly discuss this onslaught.

The Bible makes it clear that God created mankind male and female and gave them proper distinction, not only physically but also in everyday life. The enemy has mounted a campaign to not only destroy the home but to confuse our children regarding their sexual/role identity. We must plead the blood of Jesus over our children, and parents must take time to expose the enemy’s lies in their kid’s lives.

When we use the word transgender, we are describing a person whose gender identity is different from the sex they were assigned at birth. Furthermore, when we use gender expression, we are talking about how a person may outwardly reflect their internal sense of gender through presentation, such as through clothing, hair, voice, and body language.

The transgender issue is an identification issue. Hell is fighting furiously to convince our kids that they have the right to oppose God’s original design and to question their sexual identity. A spirit of perversion is at work, trying to persuade our children that God is unreasonable and ripping them off in terms of their gender identity. Our God, as you know, is all-wise and all-knowing. He does all things well and makes no mistakes.

Unfortunately, many parents believe they do not influence their kid’s life as much as they would like. When it comes to gender and sexuality, why are teens more likely to turn to peers and online influences? It can be so overwhelming!

How do we combat this spiritual attack? Obviously through prayer first. Second, parents, let me encourage you to educate your children regarding the wisdom of God to create them in His image and to understand their wonderful uniqueness. Confirm their maleness or femaleness! Lead them to discover their uniqueness and to love who they are–who God made them to be. Ephesians 5:29 reminds us, “For no one ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church” (NCV). It is paramount that parents walk their kids through this identity explosion. Our children are not who culture says they are; they are who God says they are–“fearfully and wonderfully made.” The enemy must not be allowed to twist and torment precious lives.  I beg you. Become proactive with your kids, asking the Lord to show you how to confront this tirade born in hell.

I’m praying daily for you and your family. Remember, the battle belongs to the Lord!
