Caught Up in the Moment

Recently, while mowing the church lawn, I got caught up in a spirit of praise and worship. Heaven came down and kissed me while grass flew everywhere! It was truly a time of heaven on earth. After mowing for twenty minutes or so, I realized that I had missed several patches of grass. I had to go back over them.

What preempted this time of concentrated worship? I had asked the Lord to help me be a better man, husband, father, grandfather, and specifically a better pastor. My heart was tethered to the Lord when I heard Him outline three very significant imperatives. I knew it was the Lord because I'm not quick enough on the draw to remember without help from above!

Here's What He Said

Preach the Word. Love the people. Administrate wisely.

We are definitely the end time church, and I'm constantly challenged to keep things simple, yet impactful. People who choose to live in drama, who allow confusion to enter their minds, who live to be offended, who entertain stresses of all kinds, who fail to keep their marriages healthy and suffer attacks on their family, who experience financial concerns, who love to sow discord, or who live with inordinate fear and more, all combine to keep people living on the edge.

It's imperative that God's people stay saturated in the Word, in prayer, in weekly fellowship, and above the pull of sin, the flesh and the devil.

I was caught up in the moment, and how I thank the Lord for His wonderful touch in my life. Today, I invite you to hug up to the cross and find your solutions in Him.
